Purpose:
To cultivate awareness without judgment.

This practice helps students slow down, observe their thoughts and emotions, and reconnect with the present moment.

Observer Breath is recommended whenever a student feels:

  • Overwhelmed
  • Reactive
  • Disconnected
  • Confused
  • Emotionally activated

๐ŸŒฑ WHEN TO USE

Use this breathwork:

  • Before journaling
  • Before meditation
  • Before completing coursework
  • Before making important decisions
  • During moments of emotional overwhelm

๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ THE PRACTICE

Find a comfortable seated position.

Place both feet firmly on the floor.

Relax your shoulders.

Allow your hands to rest comfortably.

If comfortable, close your eyes.

Begin the following pattern:

Inhale for 4 counts

Hold for 4 counts

Exhale for 6 counts

Repeat for:

โณ 5โ€“10 minutes

Focus only on the breath.

No fixing.

No forcing.

No changing.

Only observing.


๐Ÿ‘๏ธ OBSERVER QUESTIONS

As you breathe, gently notice:

  • What am I feeling right now?
  • What thoughts are repeating?
  • What sensations are present in my body?
  • What am I becoming aware of?

Do not search for answers.

Simply notice.

I allow awareness to emerge naturally.

I trust what is being revealed.

I am present with myself.
